MICHELLE SHEARMAN - PRINCIPAL
I have been involved with all forms of dance genres starting from the age of 3, when my first experience was at a local stage school where I learned tap, ballet, modern and jazz. During these years I took part in many competitions, shows, festivals & examinations.
I always had a passion to follow my idols Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers and have been teaching Ballroom and Latin since 1994, when Len Goodman was the examiner for one of my first professional exams - not a bad start, I thought!
I am now a Fellow of the N.A.T.D (National Association of Teachers of Dancing) and a Licentiate Member of the U.K.A (United Kingdom Alliance).
I have had great pleasure adjudicating, creating choreography and arranging shows, competitions, festivals and medal tests. I have also trained many successful dancers to become teachers.
I studied the Argentine Tango in London for 7 years and had the opportunity to partner Vincent Simone in a masterclass for Children in Need.
I have helped to support various charities with my teaching skills along the way, as I love having the chance to give something back.
In 2015, it was a natural progression for me to open my own dance school: Dancing Fusion in Brentwood. I teach classes for children and adults, as well as giving private lessons.
Dancing helps to promote a healthy lifestyle and the rewards are endless.
My aim is to bring dance to the community so everybody has the chance to dance!
